This isn't a privilege that is restricted to officers, soldiers are also able to bring dogs on to base. There are a number of forms and insurances that you need to complete before doing so. Be aware, different bases have different rules. Training establishments are a lot more stringent and are less likely to allow dogs in the work place, but you can still have them in your room. But broadly speaking, you will be able to bring your dog into your office.
