Hello,
This is very variable, and will depend on where home is, where you are based and what exercises/deployments you are going on.
Most regiments will often allow soldiers to leave at lunchtime on Friday, and some will allow soldiers a late start on Monday, allowing you enough time to travel if your family live far away. When I am in the UK, I often have time to travel to see family, and we get a generous annual leave allowance that helps with this. If you are live on base but your family home is elsewhere, you can also claim a bit of money each month to help pay for your travel expenses home.
Some years I have been very busy with exercises abroad and have missed christmas/birthdays/weddings, and other years I have been less busy and seen friends and family frequently.
