Being a non swimmer is not the end of the world a lot of people who join often cant swim PTIs help by giving lessons to all non swimmers to help develop them and help build their confidence to be able to pass the MFST (military fitness swim test) here they teach you to tread water swimming techniques and other skills required to pass it. If you still cannot swim at the end of it it will stop you from being able to do certain activities such as water sports during AT (adventure training).
