James A.
Reconnaissance Platoon soldier
As this question is unanswered, I thought I would answer for you to my knowledge.
Paratroopers are airborne infantry, their 26 week infantry training is exactly the same as all other infantry units with 2 weeks P Company to finish.
They are part of 16 air assault in Colchester, Essex. They, like most other infantry units deploy as ground troops in past conflicts such as Afghanistan and Iraq. They have 3 regiments of regular serving soldiers, 2 being in Colchester and 1 Para based in MOD St athan where they form part of the special forces fire support group with the raf regiment and the Royal Marines.
Unsure if there are any paratroopers on here as yet so I hope this answers your question for now
