An apprenticeship is essentially aiming towards a skill or higher qualification. Sometimes not paid as much as jobs but you will get a decent level of qualification once you complete your apprenticeship.

For example, if you are joining and engineer job that requires you have a set skill, you will work towards that required skill. Look at it like a college A level with hands on daily instead of sat in a classroom everyday.
