Hi I’m a single parent and see my child on weekends, I just want to know what’s the army like regarding spending time with family and do you have a choice where you get based either aboard or in the UK. It’s just really a general question on how do single parents find army life

although I am not a single parent, overall the army does take into account your situation, we recognize for single parents life will be difficult and we try to limit the amount of time you go away to keep and maintain a healthy family balance, on top of that when you finish training you will be able to put down 3 option for where you would like to be posted (depending on what cap badge and regiment you join will depend on where you can be posted as they all have different bases in different locations).
