So what I want to know is. When joining the Grenadier’s can you choose to stick with ceremonial or choose combat. Or are both mandatory.

Hi Max
You are best talking to one of the insiders who are in the infantry/Foot Guards. Army Musicians are all part of the Corps of Army Music, not infantry.
