Once you have completed training you can request to be attached to an artillery unit

Hi Lou,
To further my colleagues point, Once training has been completed, most personnel will be asked to provide 3 choices of locations/units where they would like to be based.
Your Corps will then do as much as they can to get you one of your top choices but obviously this is not always possible due to space available.
Usually if you are unsuccessful in getting your top choice on the first posting (Roughly 2 years at attached to a unit/regiment), you will be more than likely to get it on your second posting.
Hope this answers your quesiton.
