Can you choose your battalion in your chosen regiment?
Additional information
I am starting training in October and I was wondering if you can choose your battalion within your regiment after completing training.

Hi, a battalion and regiment are basically the same thing. Once you have been allocated a trade during your training you will be assigned a unit, depending on the trade you join, depends on what jobs are available. It is really dependant on your capbadge, trade and job availability and your chain of command will discuss this with you. Throughout my 20 year career I have mostly had my top choice or second choice and have never been disappointed.

Adding to the answer above, if your relating to the company within the battalion you are joining then yes, you have some choice if it’s an infantry battalion you are joining. You would initially go to where your unit required you until you gained experience in that role. After a few years you will have the option to do various courses to allow you to move company’s and into different job roles.
