Do you get to pick your regiment and battalion? Im from lincoln but the 2 yorks really appeal to me would i get a choice

You can choose a preferred regiment but you will now decide what unit you want to go to at week 8 of basic training. This is so you have a better idea of what the army is like as a whole. It also helps you select the right battalion which is best for you. You may be told you can’t join a certain unit if they happen to be at full capacity at that time. In this case you would then select your second or third choice.
