As boring as it sounds I have a interest in maths, is there any role that requires knowledge of advanced mathematics?

Hi, there's a number of roles in the army where an advanced knowledge of maths is required. Look at some of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineer trades such as Avionics technician. Some REME soldiers do very advanced maths courses at the Army School of Education so REME is definitely a pathway to look at. Perhaps also something like the Geographic Technician in the Royal Engineers. Some of the highly technical trades in the Royal Signals will also involve maths but i know for certain (i used to teach in the Army School of Education) some of the REME technical trades require higher maths (i didn't understand anything on the whiteboards!!). Good luck.
