Additional information

I’m looking at career options going down the line as a musician, so I am very curious as to what the army has within the music area. Thanks!

As part of the application process to be an Army Musician, you will be required to pass an audition. This is usually around grade 5/6 standard, but they look at your train-ability etc. rather than your current music qualifications. There are several different types of band throughout the British Army, which are all host to a number of smaller ensembles. The main types are: a string orchestra, symphonic wind bands (of varying sizes), a pop group and brass bands. Within these you can expect to see many standard small ensembles: IE. wind quintet, brass quintet, saxophone quartet etc. But it is down to the individuals in the bands as to what other small ensembles they want to deliver. I hope this answers your question.
