You can still do forms of engineering in the Army without having great GCSEs/equivalents. You will need to pass a BARB test with a score of 48 or higher to join the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers and get at least 16 in the TST (Technical Selection Test). The better your scores, the more technical the job you can do.
