Are the fitness standards a lot higher for a CMT? Any tips for training? Any day to day experiences as a CMT too?

Amanda, thanks for your question.
The fitness standards differ throughout the army based on your job choice/trade. The new standards are called Physical Employment Standards (PES)
Someone in an admin role won’t be required to be as fit as someone in a frontline role for example.
On operations, CMTs will deploy on patrol with frontline soldiers so as expected, they will be required to pass certain tests on pre deployment training.
Hope this helps,
Any further questions don’t hesitate in asking.

Hi Amanda,
Thanks for your question.
As J says above the fitness standards in the British Army are geared towards the role you will do so they are all different.
Have a look at the British Army website here (https://apply.army.mod.uk/roles/army-medical-service/combat-medical-technician) which tells you the standards you are required to meet to be a CMT. There is also some great training advice on the website too which tells you more about each test and the activities you can do to train for them. (https://apply.army.mod.uk/how-to-join/can-i-join/fitness/physical-entry-standards
Good luck with your application.
