Additional information

I have the necessary GCSE and A-levels plus merchant navy qualifications. I do not have a degree. I have noticed with pilots a trend in holding a degree. I am looking at a career change and considering pursuing a career as an officer. I look forward to your reply!

Wildcat Pilot

Hi Archie,

Thanks for your question. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you as I have been abroad on exercise.

There is no requirement to hold a degree to become an Army pilot, either as a soldier or officer. Many pilot's do have a degree but it is definitely not a pre-requisite. There is no preferential treatment to anyone who holds a degree - potential pilots are selected based on their ability to pass the selection tests and their character.

Hope that helps.

Take care,
Maddie
