Hi Cameron,

Yes, this is the baseline standard for most jobs across the army, however some will require you to get a faster run time. Mainly the more demanding job roles such as Infantry Soldier and Paratrooper.

The biggest thing however is to make sure to give you give 100% no matter what. It's a best effort run and that's what the assessors want to see, is you giving your best effort to meet the standards.

The run is currently being completed as a bleep test instead, this was due to COVID but it will be continuing this way for the foreseeable future now. If you're unsure of what level will be required, give your recruiter a call and they will be able to confirm specific to your job choice what is required.

If you are unsuccessful in completing the fitness side of the assesment, you will have to return to do a 1 day event at your closest RFTE centre. You will not have to complete the full assessment, just the fitness. Which hopefully you will have had ample time to get up to the standard and will pass with ease.

Hope this helps, any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.
