How much time do you get to do sports, is there a weekly training routine for athletes?

It depends what level you are competing at. Pretty everyone gets Wednesday afternoon to play sports as there are direct benefits from sports to being a soldier, fitness, teamwork, mental resilience etc. Most units have football, rugby , boxing, badminton and squash teams as an example.
There probably isn't a sport the Army doesn't compete in. If you represent your regiment or Bn you will get more time to play sport than someone who doesn't. You can then move through the levels of competition. Unit, Corps, Army, Tri service and in some cases elite level. If you are elite you could become a full time athlete employed by the Army. I'm not 100% on the process as I'm not an Olympic level athlete! But I think it's safe to say they do a lot less of their day to day job than someone who isn't an elite athlete (unsurprisingly).
The Army will always reward effort and excellence at every level. Whether that be free travel to games and time off work to compete or being released from work for long periods to train to represent your country.
I hope this goes some way to answering your question.
Regards
Robbo
