Hello Tasneem thanks for your question.
I wanted to join the Army since the age of 14. For my work experience in school I attended a 'Look at Life' course with a local Army unit and I absolutely loved it. I decided to go to college, gain my A-Levels and then I joined the Army afterwards when I was 18. What attracted me most to the Army was the opportunity to travel and all the sports and adventure training that is available.
I have never felt like an outcast during my eight years serving. The Army is one big family and I have always felt welcomed. Turning up to Basic Training on the very first day was daunting to me but I soon realised everyone else was in the exact same shoes and soon relaxed.
I hope this helps.
Zoe
