A year is more than enough time. Be careful to not over train and ensure you take at least 2 days off a week. Your fitness programme should be varied to include running, swimming, bodyweight circuits and general strength and conditioning before you start basic training. Ensure time for stretching and flexibility is given. More in-depth training programmes will be provided when or if you attend PRAC.
