Good Afternoon and thankyou for your question,
Relocation depends on a few things. Some units have more permanent locations, whereas alot of the attached arms (Royal Engineers, Medics, HR Specialists etc) will often find themselves with a unit for around 2 years, potentially longer depending on the circumstances.
Most soldiers see this as a positive opportunity, as it means getting to explore new parts of the country/world, and a new variety of people too, working in different capacities with different issues to get over and so on.
This has been the case in the army for a long time and so they have been getting very good at helping with this.
Wherever you are posted, the army will provide you and your family (if required) with local accommodation which is always at a subsidised rate and of high quality.
Further to this, there are also allowances given to personnel such as relocation leave and relocation allowance. Which is essentially time off work and small chunks of money to help with potential financial and admin difficulties that could arise from moving.
Overall, the army is very supportive of relocating it's soldiers, and if you require a role which is more solid with where you are based, then there are options for this too.
Hope that answers your question.
